Terms of service

Effective October 16, 2026

These terms cover your use of ClipAlerts: the website at clipalerts.app, the ClipAlerts Twitch extension and the OBS overlay. By using ClipAlerts you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Not part of Twitch

ClipAlerts is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Twitch. You still need to follow Twitch's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines while using ClipAlerts.

Your account

You log in with your Twitch account. You're responsible for what happens under it. Streamers who connect a channel confirm they run that channel.

Submitting sounds

  • Only submit clips from the channel you're submitting to. ClipAlerts checks this, but don't try to get around it.
  • Don't submit anything hateful, harassing, sexual, or anything else that breaks Twitch's rules.
  • Don't submit bites that are mostly music. Twitch doesn't allow Bits to be used to play music tracks, so these will be rejected.
  • When you submit, you allow ClipAlerts and the streamer to store, trim, level the volume of, show and play that bite, including on stream and on the channel's public moments page.
  • The streamer and their moderators decide what's approved and can remove any sound at any time.

For streamers

  • You're responsible for what plays on your stream, including anything in your clips such as game audio or music, under Twitch's rules and copyright law.
  • You choose your moderators and are responsible for their actions in your dashboard.
  • You can pause alerts, delete sounds or disconnect your channel at any time.

Bits and Channel Points

  • Bits are bought and spent through Twitch under Twitch's terms. ClipAlerts never handles payments and can't issue Bits refunds.
  • If a sound is on cooldown or the streamer has paused alerts when you use Bits, your alert waits in line and plays later.
  • If a sound can't be played at all after a purchase (for example, it was removed at that moment), the purchase is recorded so it can be looked into.
  • Channel Points redemptions that can't play (no matching sound, a cooldown, or alerts paused) are refunded automatically.

Free plays

Free plays are earned when sounds you submitted get played. They have no cash value, can't be transferred or sold, only work on the channel where they were earned, and we may change or end them.

Fair use of the service

Don't try to break, overload, scrape or get unauthorized access to ClipAlerts, and don't use it to get around Twitch's rules or limits.

Removing content and accounts

We may remove content or stop providing the service to anyone who breaks these terms or Twitch's rules. You can stop using ClipAlerts at any time.

Copyright concerns

If you believe something on ClipAlerts infringes your rights, contact us with the link to the content and the details of your claim, and we'll look into it.

No guarantees

ClipAlerts is provided as is. We work to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available, error free, or that every alert will play. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses from using the service.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and continuing to use ClipAlerts means you accept the updated terms.
